The Secret: What Mom Really Wants for Mother's Day
Welp, we are almost to that time of the year, Mother's Day is right around the corner so undoubtedly our husbands will wait a couple more weeks before thinking about making any plans or cute crafts with our kids šš Am I right mamas?!
Anyway... I feel like there’s always this big thing around what moms REALLY want for Mother’s Day, so for all the dads reading this (probably none) I’m going to share the secret with you!!
Are you ready?
Moms want... to be responsible for nothing and no one on Mother’s Day!
There I said it.
To truly show your love and appreciation for us on Mother’s Day we simply want to not be responsible for...
š Getting everyone up, dressed, and fed
šļø Making sure all the teeth are brushed and beds are made
ā° Solidifying the last minute plans of the day
š® Making meals
š¶š¼ Changing diapers
š§¹ Cleaning up messes
š£ Refereeing fights/arguments
š§ŗ Doing 35 loads of laundry a day
š«§ Cleaning the house
š§½ Scrubbing the toilets
š§ŗ Folding the towels
š Putting away clean clothes
š½ļø Unloading and loading the dishwasher
š± Setting up doctor/dentist appointments
š Helping with schoolwork
LITERALLY ALL OF THE THINGS! This list doesn’t even come close to covering everything.
What we REALLY want is to have someone else take care of all of the above for ONE day ā¤ļø
āļøšš¼ And when I say take care of it, I don’t mean tell mom she doesn’t have to do it and leave it all piled up for her the next day. Make it a family affair if you need to, get the whole household to take over moms chores for the day.
Then throw in breakfast in bed š„, a delicious coffeeāļø, and for the cherry on top schedule her a massage šāļø ... BEST MOTHERS DAY EVER šš
Alright, so now that you all know the secret (DADS) š, you’re welcome.
HOWEVER, in case you choose not to give the best Mother’s Day gift ever, you can choose some of these lovely options I suppose šš

What woman doesn’t love having fresh flowers što brighten up her home?! āļø A fresh bouquet is always a sure winner!
Spa Gift Card
If you can’t have the massage, mani/pedi, or facial pre-booked for her, a gift card is the next best thing. Spa gift cards are pretty much like winning the lotto šš¤©
TIP: a lot of women have a favorite place they like to go, so do some investigating before you grab any random gift card.
Jewelry
Now this one is probably a bit more dependent on your woman, but most of the moms I know, wouldn’t be mad if they got some jewelry for Mother’s Day š just saying. š
That Fav Perfume (or if you’re like me essential oil)
Moms always love smelling great, so why not grab her a bottle of her fav scent! š

Ok, now this one’s for the go-getter dads. It may not be fancy, but heartfelt messages from our love is always a win! š Especially for a mama who might not have gotten one since the day of her wedding. š°š¼āļø Really take some time to write out how much you appreciate your woman and all the reasons why you love her and she is a fantastic mom. Not only will it shed some tears š but it will likely gain you brownie points too!
Something Hand Made from the Kids
Maybe your kiddo(s) already have this covered from a project at school, but if your kids are homeschooled like mine... ahheemmm dad are you listening? It’s nice to get something cute from the kids that they actually spent some time on. š„° I'm sure you can do a quick search on Pinterest and find a million cute ideas.
Brunch Reservations
Brunch is always great on Mother’s Day because brunch means no cooking and no clean up.š³ Andddd mimosas š¹ yes please!!
Projects Completed
If your woman is anything like me, this one is a WINNER so listen up Dads... have any of those projects around the house that have been on-going for wayyyy longer than planned? š ļøš Yeah, I think you know what I'm talking about! š Finish them up this Mother's Day! It may sound silly, but I bet mom will be thrilled to have her kitchen walls finally finished š or that new bathroom sink finally installed. Trust me on this one. š
Honestly the gifts don’t need to be expensive or even cost anything. I am telling you, the one thing mom wants the most this year is a day with no responsibilities and someone to take care of them for her so they aren’t piled up the next day. ā¤ļø
